Zelensky announces a ban on the UOC: What's next?

On December 1, Zelensky’s traditional evening video message was devoted to the church issue. He reported on the meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, at which decisions were made regarding the fate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. And soon, by decree 820, Zelensky put this decision into effect. What's happening?

Why the "Russian" song scandal at Lavra is needed

On November 22, the SBU conducted mass searches in the monasteries and churches of the UOC: in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, in the Zvirynets Monastery in Kyiv, in the Korets Convent, in the monastery of the Volyn Mother of God, as well as in the premises of the Sarny-Polissia Eparchy of the UOC. Security officials expect to find saboteurs and weapons there. It sounds more than absurd, but such formulations are published on the official resources of the SBU.

The reason for the searches was an investigation into the singing of the “Song of the Most Holy Theotokos” in one of the Lavra's temples, in which there were the words “the bell ringing is rising over Russia, Mother Rus is awakening.” Because of the “Russian” song, the UOC is now facing the threat of losing the Lavra or even full-scale sanctions from the authorities. The video with the song was uploaded by one of the "gray cardinals" of Dumenko. What is it - a coincidence or a well-thought-out plan?
